There’s a story they tell in my town ‘Bout a stranger Burned the whole place down Look for danger, you’ll find him near No stranger To the taste of your fear Came a-riding in from the east Cut his way from The belly of the beast Sun was setting The lights went black All was darkness Dawn won’t come back It’s a tale the old wives tell All the good men sent to hell Too many gravestones on the hill How many died, how many were killed? There was no war, no pestilence Dread presence violence The women and children locked inside Brave men, fools and cowards all died Flame red Death head Black soul Black hole Forty five after five The young pretender was still alive Red lions on amber fields Ripping wounds that never heal Kept his head but lost the men The butcher told him, never again Cleared the people from the land Gave it all to The Black Hand Guns and bullets and knives and bombs and Fire and powder, spikes and napalm Rockets and missiles, nukes and shells, Spears and arrows and holy fire When your time finally comes Baby, don’t you run Dry those tears Remember all our years Strike the dagger into his heart As he pulls us apart Look deep into his eyes Take the life that never dies Flame red Death head Black soul Black hole Never know him The ways of his name A life in ashes All set aflame You’ll never see him He lives in shadow When he reaps You gotta go Well, that’s the story they tell in my town ‘Bout a stranger Burned the whole place down Look for danger, you’ll find him near No stranger To the taste of your fear Guns and bullets and knives and bombs and Fire and powder, spikes and napalm Rockets and missiles, nukes and shells, Spears and arrows and holy fire There’s a stranger in my town!

One year the summer never came Flooded cities once aflame Wrapped in ice and shadow Where only fools and gods now go The dreadful folly of humanity Is to know so little, and never see The currents of the river of reality The bloody handed giver of our sanity Broken bodies crawling Crawling from the Citadel Broken bodies crawling Crawling from the gates of hell The silence of the damned Zombie soldiers calling Calling for the right to die Zombie soldiers crawling Crawling through the angel’s eye I swear I never heard your name Call me liar, it’s all the same I never spared your flesh the dream But we both knew it was never what it seemed Drew the dagger, opened the vein A bloody end to a life of pain Burning Yearning Destitution Holy institution Silence Violence Deprivation Holy inspiration Golden joy is on the open road to everywhere Sold your toys to a boy soldier who was standing there Hoping for the world to change to suit his needs and brain Making a big mistake, he’ll never be a lifelong friend

Mortem Non 06:23
The funeral procession will leave before dawn (mortem non) Making its way through the palace of the mountain spawn (mortem non) And in the sunrise the cortege will climb the slope (mortem non) Winding its way ever upward to the chapel of Domina Hope (mortem non) Where the Red Priest will bring Sacramentum Doom (mortem non) The catechism will be spent (mortem non) Smoke will fill the room (mortem non) All days you do repent will be lost forever (mortem non) As foretold by Sacred Agnes (mortem non) Goddess of Crow River (mortem non) All our souls saved (mortem non) No fear of the bitter grave (mortem non) Nor everlasting fire (mortem non) Our lives desire (mortem non) In the grace of divine breath (mortem non) Never falling to the sword of death Take us sinners Fools and winners Strip our flesh away Let us with our blood pray Gimme the knife I give my life To the holy one The day has come Strip my mind away All my thoughts be flayed Holy Cacogen Let me be born again The frozen remnants of the city When I was young it was so pretty Golden boughs weighed down with plenty Now ragged bones, streets all empty The sun is dying in the cold of space Light flickering dappled on his face The library of all the ages Lost by candlelight in ragged pages Imaginary stories Adding up to zero The failures and the glory Of long a long dead hero The moon tells her lies Like a lovers blinded eyes Rising like the dream Rising like a scream Dying like a fool Crying ‘bout the rules Crashing in my car Crashing like a star Drowning like a wave Nothing will be saved Children painted bloody red In the wreckage of their living room Calling out to the forgotten dead Mother, father, taken to their doom So the circle is completed By war love is defeated Our gods obliterated Our lives eviscerated The circle is completed By war love is defeated Mortem non Mortem non Mortem non

Wake Up! 04:51
Gone are the lands of silence and soul’s ocean Gone are the hands held there in dark devotion Gone are the trees of light and brightened wonder Mountains asunder Gone is our thunder Gone the blooded mother Gone Wake up! You need a shake up This is a break up You got to wake up Hey stupid You know what they did You were dreaming They were scheming Stole the world from you What’s a good man gonna do? No matter how you fight Somehow they’re always right Break down Baby it’s a shake down Freak out! They’re calling it a leak out! Hey buddy It’s gonna get bloody Everybody leaving We stopped believing Stole the world from us Now it’s time we make a fuss Bet your life we fight In the end we’re always right In the cinnamon bars Of Sumatran Mars Plotting revolution Holy constitution Freedom! Reason! Freedom! No reason! Freedom! Reason! Freedom! No reason! For once in my life I’d like to see an end to all this strife In the lakes of sister Moon Swim mad fishes in the afternoon Sainted Agnes calls her son Can’t believe what he’s begun In the dried up oceans of Mother Earth Seems a spider has given birth To a whale the size of her thumb No revolution, no Kingdom Come! Get your freedom here No reason Commit treason Get your freedom here No reason Commit treason Get your freedom Wake up! Shake up! Freak out! We gotta break up! Gotta break out! I’m in a break down!

Take your seat at the table We’ll feed you well, yes we are able We are the Lord of flies Lord of worms Lord of everything that crawls and squirms Be at ease We aim to please We bring the feast of our Epiphany We carve the living meat With style replete This mighty house of glorious infamy We are the servants of your every need By all means prick our flesh, we cannot bleed You grace our name, our hospitality We treat all you all the same, no fatalities Hunger! Feel it eating at your bones Join with us, you’ll never be alone The hunger Will eat you alive Hunger like this You can’t survive No matter how you try It’s gonna feed on you until you die Now you know your fate You stand before our gate Eat of us, it’s not too late! Hunger! Feel it eating at your bones Join with us, you’ll never be alone The hunger Will eat you alive Hunger like this You can’t survive Blood simple from the shores of Zanzibar Where blessed virgins scour their veins Delicacies from every dive and bar This withered fruit, the politician’s brain The dagger waits For your flesh Ripe!

Jenny Fair 07:31
She stands there in the car park Dragons breathing down her neck Fire breaking through the dark The usual nervous wreck The dream is strong this morning Feeding deep within her skin The black veil of her mourning Betrays the state she’s in Nothing’s real any more Demons knocking at the door She gave away her precious soul For a life of grey without parole Stranger danger everywhere She tries to tell them, but they just stare A tattooed lady, starlight in her hair No way out of here for Jenny Fair Jenny Fair Jenny Fair Monsters, monsters, faces filled with greed and hate Lunging out for her as she comes near the gate Around every corner, some spiteful new damnation She tries to tell herself, it’s just imagination But it hurts, how can it cause such pain? It’s not really there, the enemy was slain And in his passing took her sanity away Her fractured mind still missing in that fated day Some dreaded act of god, revenge or happenstance There is no reasoning with chaos or with chance Jenny Fair is falling Falling into chaos Chaos is the master Master of her dreaming Dreaming for tomorrow Tomorrow is her sorrow Sorrow without meaning No-one hears her screaming Jenny Fair walks through the broken door Smiles at nobody, gives a fuck no more She took the medicine, it’s kicking in Now nothing matters, she is free from sin Her name is Jenny Fair she is the anti-Christ In her fractured mind there is no wrong or right There’s only Jenny Fair and what she wants to do One day sweet Jenny Fair will set her mind on you Jenny Fair will bring the whole thing down Jenny Fair was the stranger in your town Jenny Fair burns the world, she’s insane Jenny Fair put her dragons in your brain She once loved a boy, said he loved her back Told him of the dreaming, how her was heart was black Then he turned to stone, left her standing there No wonder love’s a stranger to Jenny Fair Jenny Fair will bring the whole thing down Jenny Fair was the stranger in your town Jenny Fair burns the world, she’s insane Jenny Fair put her dragons in your brain

Support Stranger In My Town at strangerinmytown.bandcamp.com/music

Stranger In My Town Vol 1 was released in 2016 as an instrumental album by the Italian band Stranger In My Town. We loved the music, and ended up singing along, making up words and improvising melodies.

A few months later (having completed The Eclectic Universe) Largy Baan and Peri Urban developed lyrics and formalised melodies. The original music is unaltered.

Please support a great band over at strangerinmytown.bandcamp.com/music
