Recorded 1980, 1981, 1982, 1990 and 1991.

The title track was assembled and edited by Peri Urban in Edinburgh during December 1990 and February 1991 from recordings made by m.a.o. in the early 1980s. Additional samples and sounds were added during the edit, both contemporary and archival.

Another Green Thing, Tanu Tuva and View From The Canopy were recorded in December 1990.

A Sea Change was recorded in March 1991. A Hard Place To Be and Slip were recorded in April 1991. The basic tracks were recorded in John O'Hare's house in Alexandria, and completed in Edinburgh.

Gravitation In The Nativity Well was recorded in Edinburgh during October 1991.

The album was mastered and minor cosmetic edits were made by Peri Urban in East Lothian, March 2014.
